Vượt qua Death Stranding và Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice trở thành tựa game của năm tại The Game Awards 2019.
Được công bố tại The Game Awards diễn ra vào sáng ngày 13, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice bất ngờ vượt qua nhiều đối thủ “nặng ký” như Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, Control, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate và The Outer Worlds giành giải game của năm.
Ngoài ra, tựa game còn xuất sắc giành giải game Hành động – Phiêu lưu xuất sắc nhất.
Disco Elysium cũng đạt được bốn giải lớn tại sự kiện, gồm Game dẫn chuyện xuất sắc nhất, Game độc lập xuất sắc nhất, Game nhập vai xuất sắc nhất và Game độc lập độc đáo (Fresh Indie Game).
Nói đến Death Stranding của “phù thuỷ làng game” Hideo Kojima, tựa game nhận được giải Game được chỉ đạo xuất sắc nhất, Game có nhạc nền hay nhất và Màn trình diễn xuất sắc nhất.
Lần này, Nintendo đạt được hai giải với Super Smash Bros. Ultimate đạt giải Game đối kháng xuất sắc nhất và Luigi’s Mansion 3 đạt giải Game gia đình xuất sắc nhất.
